Alle ore 9 è partita la prima tappa della GORE-TEX TRANSALPINE RUN.

In 8 tappe gli atleti si troveranno ad attraversare parte dell'arco alpino da Ruhpolding in Germania a Sesto in Italia con un totale di 320km e 15000m di dislivello positivo.

Oggi tocca il tratto da Ruhpolding a St. Johann in Tirol in Austria, 49.6km e 1663m D+.








Al via circa 300 coppie tra cui il TEAM PINK LADY composto dalla veneziana Marta Furlanetto e dall'Ultraberica Raffaella Greco!

Iker ha rinunciato alla versione ridotta, Philipp non avrebbe corso in ogni caso, non era nemmeno iscritto.

Certo, ma ma non risultavano iscritti alla Transalpine. O almeno fino a stamane non lo sapevo io. Probabilmente l'avrà dichiarato quando ha annunciato che non correva la versione ridotta di UTMB.
In ogni caso la sta correndo e vediamo cosa farà.

Certo che è comunque una corsa diversa, in coppia, a tappe, lunga il doppio... E forse un po' snobbata da noi italiani. Fa impressione pensare a quanti sono iscritti al TOR e qui di coppie non altoatesine ce ne sono solo due!
Eppure è una corsa di respiro internazionale. Se ho tempo voglio fare un confronto fatto bene, ma ho l'impressione che, ma malgrado i partecipanti siano molti di meno le nazioni del mondo presenti siano più qui che all'UTMB.
Mi è caduto l'occhio e ho notato ben sei team Israeliani! Magari non è vero ma è certo che noi Italiani siamo in pochi a parteciparvi.

Si sono iscritti all'ultimo quando Iker ha deciso di non correre la gara ridotta.

I do not have any motivation to run 100km in the Chamonix Valley. I respect the organization to take this decision and respect all of the athletes who will take the start today.
I have decided to enter the Trans-Alpine race at the last minute in a mens team with my team mate Phillip Reitter.

Beh , l'UTMB è la gara più rinomata al mondo, e , anche se in versione ridotta, Iker ha rinunciato alla possibilita concreta vincerla. Grande.
E lo sponsor/team lo ha lasciato libero di prendere la sua decisione. Bene!
